Drum offers its students performance and lecture classes,
workshops, and private instruction.
Established in 1996, Planet Drum has steadily grown
to become a major focal point for drumset and percussion
education in the United Kingdom. Planet Drum has a history
of hosting and sponsoring drumming concerts and educational
events for music venues including the South Bank Centre,
the Roundhouse and Somerset house, as well as for media
companies including the BBC and ITV.
The main London teaching centre is located inside Scar,
a major rehearsal studio complex located in the heart
of Camden Town, and the last of its kind in an area
known throughout the country and the rest of the world
for its music history. There are now three additional
teaching studios, one in Old street, in Hackney, and
in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Many bands have started out in the Camden studios with
a multitude of chart acts having taken advantage of
facilities based on the premises. Planet Drum instructors
have taught extensively for thousands of satisfied students
in the current studios, in the old London Bridge studios,
at the Royal Festival Hall, and all over the UK at Planet
Drum workshops.
Planet Drum's philosophy is to foster and encourage
the development of music performance to the highest
creative and technical standards. Whether it's rock,
latin or jazz music at the heart of our students' endeavours,
it becomes not just an interest but a way of life. |
