Established in 1996, Planet Drum has steadily grown
to become a major focal point for popular music education
in the United Kingdom. One of the keys to its success
has been the wealth of musical talent it has been able
to draw on.
Resident tutors and visiting specialists continue to
provide tuition of the highest calibre giving our students
the opportunity to learn and develop in an exciting,
supportive and creative environment.
The London teaching centre is located inside Scar,
a major rehearsal studio complex located in the heart
of Camden Town, and the last of its kind in an area
known throughout the country and the rest of the world
for its music history.
Many bands have started out here with a multitude of
chart acts having taken advantage of facilities based
on the premises. Thousands of drummers have studied
here with us, or in the old London Bridge studios.
Planet Drum's philosophy is to foster and encourage
the development of music performance to the highest
creative and technical standards. Whether it's rock,
latin or jazz music at the heart of our students' endeavours,
it becomes not just an interest but a way of life.
Our students learn skills that will help enrich the
music scene for decades to come. Planet Drum runs the
drumming workshops at the Rhythm Sticks festival, Royal
Festival Hall, since the year 2000.Team
