Curriculum
It is just as important to have a solid curriculum for a beginner as it is for an advanced player. At Planet Drum we believe that a concise plan is a key factor for effective learning. Our graded courses are designed specifically for all skill levels as well as being tailored to each individual student’s needs. They provide a complete structure for the implementation of material and learning tools that gives priority to musical literacy, technique, style and versatility on the drums. The Planet Drum graded curriculum is complemented by monthly band workshops, rhythm skills workshops, percussion workshops and masterclasses with some of the world's best drummers. The curriculum is built on a set of 4 stages containing 6 units each. Each unit is aimed to be taught within one to three lessons. Download links below. |

| Planet Drum's Latin percussion workshops are a fantastic opportunity to have a group musical experience with modern and traditional rhythms. We teach Afro-Cuban and Brazilian styles using a variety of instruments, however, congas are the main drums used to learn these rhythms because they are very versatile. |

Our Afro-Cuban repertoire concentrates mainly on salsa and rumba rhythms as they are the most common and contemporary styles played today. The Brazilian repertoire includes samba, pagode and conga adaptation for the main area of study.
A study/listening cd and musical scores for all the rhythms are provided. Above all, we guarantee you will have fun enjoying a creative experience which explores the most ancient type of music and communication: hand drumming....
